Our guest in Part Two of this series is Josette Normandeau, the energetic businesswoman at the head of Idéacom International, a production company whose documentaries and multi-platform projects have picked up dozens of awards.

Josette Normandeau was born into a family of artists – her parents were professional musicians – and grew up in an environment where self-realization was seen as the foundation of all education. It was certainly a solid foundation for a woman who defines herself as “a hyperactive person who likes to make things happen.” And so, she did – right from the start of her career, when, as a receptionist at CKCV Radio in Quebec City, Josette applied for a position as a journalist in the newsroom – and became the first woman in the station ever hired for such a job. But when
Josette D. Normandeau has successfully combined her skills as a journalist, entrepreneur, and executive producer to lead a creative production house that has collaborated with worldwide partners to achieve international recognition.
Josette first joined Idéacom International in where her avant-garde approach soon led to the production company becoming a pioneer in the convergence of TV and the Internet. President since , she now acts as both content and executive producer, managing business development while spearheading all aspects of the complex international co-productions that have become her signature.
Over the years, Josette has forged several first-look co-production partnerships-notably with French conglomerate Mediawan's AB and CC&C labels, and Factual Factory, a division of France's leading independent TV production company, Satisfaction Group. In , Josette also signed a strategic partnership with prolific production and distribution house Cineflix Media to facilitate and accelerate the creation of factual and scripted content for the global market.

Who is Josette Normandeau?
Josette Normandeau is a Canadiantelevisionproducer and martial artist. She is well known in martial arts circles for the documentaryprogramming that she has produced on variousstyles of martial arts. Normandeau is president of the production company, IdeacomInternational Inc.
She has produced several television programs and starred in the documentary series Deadly Arts, in which she travels around the globe to different countries exploring the various indigenous martial arts. In the series, she is often given exclusive access to martial arts masters and their training schools.
Josette holds black belts in both Shotokan Karate and Aikido. Although fluent in English, French is her first language.
