1. It’s a Polaroid* picture for a reason.
The week before the first single from dropped, Swift fake-leaked a photo on her Instagram feed showing an ‘80s Polaroid camera and a couple of boxes of film. A few sites briefly guessed that she was going to call the album Polaroid, and given that she has posed with one of those cameras before, she appears to be an enthusiast when it comes to this weird, old method of picture-taking. It does seem to fit with her brand: Her songwriting is about minutely documenting her life story, and until about or so — not to mention in — Polaroid pictures were a kid’s best way of doing that.

2. She didn’t fake it, but she definitely messed with it.

The first surprise was the song and the second surprise was the title and cover of the new album, which reflects the year she was born.

Swift has been working on her new album for two years and said she has changed a lot over the past two years, especially delving into late 's music and being influenced by that era.

"The inspiration behind this record, I was listening to a lot of late 80's pop I really loved the chances they were taking, how bold it was," she said. "It was apparently a time of limitless potential, the idea you could do what you want be what you want the idea of endless possibility was kind of a theme in the last two years of my life."

warriors, our time has finally arrived! Taylor Swift has officially announced the tracklist for (Taylor's Version) and the stunning new front and back covers for the album have now been revealed.

Echoing the summery blue vibes of the original album, with the iconic seagulls featured in the background and the Polaroid-style photo shoot, the (Taylor's Version) cover is surprisingly different to the original. It's also Taylor's first ever album cover that features her smiling.

Fans are now pointing out just how significant it is that Taylor's face – and smile – is in full view on the new album cover, and it all leads back to a diary entry from that she shared as part of her deluxe version of Lover.
